I met Kaity from the days of the photography darkroom in collage. So when she reached out to me years later about photographing her and Kyle's wedding, I could not have been more thrilled. You might recognize Kaity's long, flowing locks from her and Kyle's Dairy Farm Engagement Session. Their wedding day went a little something like this- mid-ceremony high fives, mountains of donuts, and the first dance giggles. This fall Wisconsin wedding was so emotional, rustic, and relaxed. When my second shooter and I arrived at the Logan Mill Lodge, Kaity was sitting calmly. Her pale blue robe contrasted against her dark locks of hair. Layers of intricate, bright flowers were woven into her hair. Meanwhile, a few floors above, Kyle was straightening his tie and buttoning his navy suit coat. As the ceremony time approached, we made our way to the Amphitheater at Wildcat State Mountain Park. We looped and swooped around the curving mountain roads (whoever said Wisconsin is flat has never driven up this road), with the trees just starting to burst into autumn yellows and deep oranges. Tall, swaying pines loomed over us as we followed the wooded path to the Amphitheater. Suddenly, we were in an opening that overlooked miles of the rolling hills of Ontario, Wisconsin. A small rustic platform stood, with a gorgeous octagonal arch perched a top it. Heaps of local wedding florals draped over the octagonal arch (seriously, if you need inspiration for an octagon wedding arch, look no further.) It was here, a few moments later, that Kaity and Kyle stood in front of their closest friends and family, to say their vows. "Our ceremony was beautiful. Even though we both forgot to write our vows until the morning of, and then forgot the vow book during the ceremony and had to have Louis run down the aisle to go get it. We were so proud of ourselves for not crying during the vows that we high-fived afterward without realizing what we were doing until it was too late. Then we just kind of went with it." Is that a testament to how cool their relationship is or what? . Their marriage was sealed with a kiss, and we were off to the Cashton Community Town Hall wedding reception! If you thought the florals were amazing during the ceremony, just wait until you see the photos of the BARRELS OF FLOWERS and lines of rich green eucalyptus garland that lined the head table. Being a graphic designer, Kaity knew exactly what personal and intricate finishing touches she needed to add to achieve that perfect rustic Wisconsin Pinterest wedding. *hint* look closely at the newspapers in the reception images;) In the words of Kaity..."[it] was a blur...[W]e spent our first dancing talking about how no one knows what song we were dancing to, then sang it to each other as we swayed. Here's to one of the funnest couples I've ever met (seriously), "I do" high-fives, and front page headers - Cheers to you Kaity & Kyle Ceremony: Wildcat Mountain State Park Dress: Charlotte's Bridal + Formal Wear Stationary and Newspaper: (The bride herself) K.Clarice Design & Photography
